Nigerian Army Kills Scores Of Terrorists In Pulka, Borno State, Recover Weapons – Naija News
This is as scores of the terrorists were killed in the Pulka area of Borno State by the troops of Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) during a battle on Wednesday.
The fierce battle took place at a location suspected to be the crossing point of the terrorists in Rengye.
This was confirmed in a statement on Thursday by the Director, Army Public Relations, Brig.-Gen. Onyema Nwachukwu who added specifically that troops deployed at 192 Battalion Forward Operations Base (FOB) in conjunction with members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) and local vigilantes executed the action.
Nwachukwu stated that the terrorists were ambushed based on available intelligence on their activities in the area.
He said in part: “Aside the neutralized terrorists, several others escaped with injuries, leaving traces of blood behind, as they fled in disarray.
“The gallant troops recovered two AK 47 rifles, three AK 47 rifle magazines, one 36 Energa Hand Grenade and one tear gas canister from the terrorists.
“While commending the troops for their resilience and renewed doggedness, the Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Faruk Yahaya, charged them to continue to dominate the area by denying the criminals freedom of action.”
Meanwhile, terrorists loyal to the Islamic State West Africa Provinces (ISWAP) have attacked and burnt down the residence of the elder brother to the Deputy Speaker of Borno State House of Assembly, Abdullahi Musa Askira.
The lawmaker confirmed the development himself which he claimed happened on Wednesday at Chan Chan Dana Community in Askira Uba local government area of Borno.
Askira in a chat with Daily Trust explained that the attack happened after the military had earlier stormed the hiding place of the terrorists in the area and dislodged them.
